Hot side race engine mounts are now available. This hotside mount provides improved gearshifts due to less drivetrain movement and also more direct feeling throttle response over the standard rubber unit.
It's very common to mix and match the AWR performance motor mount with the Mazda Competition mount which is available from our store. Also known to most as the Hybrid Motor Mount kit. Gives you the aggressive street performance and still offer minimal enhanced NVH or Cabin vibrations. Greatly improves shifter placement to reduce missed shifts which happens a lot with Factory engine mounts. The engine flops around in the engine bay which in turn tries to rotate the transmission lever away from the driver.
AWR have upraded the motor mount to house a larger bush size to HELP REDUCE NVH or more specifically, reduce cabin vibration over previous design. Mount will now be offered with the new Large Black Energy Suspension bushing.
Supplied as a fabricated steel replacement motor mount with Energy Suspension 70 DURO 'multipurpose' polyurethane bushing which can be used on both street and track cars. The mount is TIG welded and powder coated silver and comes with new metric installation hardware (Supplied disassembled for transportation)
Please note that solid engine mounts do increase NVH (Noise, Vibration & Harshness)
Why do the standard ones fail?
The standard mounts are designed such that the drivers side rubber is compressed and the passenger side rubber is stretched when you accelerate.
As a result the hotside mounts tear through over and over on many hard driven MX5's.
