Keep your bearings and oil pump happy with this Super Damper.
We've found that really high horsepower MX-5s - over 280 hp - have been overwhelming the stock harmonic damper. This can crack the gears on the oil pump as well as damage the bearings from the hammering, not to mention the sudden lack of oil pressure and tooth fragments will destroy the rest of your engine. Don't let this happen to you! ATI developed this replacement damper to solve the problem.
This unit replaces the stock damper with what is essentially two in one. The result is not only a safer engine but one that runs more smoothly all the time thanks to the improved vibration absorption.
Fits all 1991-2004 MX-5s. Long Nose Crank.

Fits all 19911997 NAs. For Fitting to a 1.6 with V belt ,With "long nose Crank" This Damper can Be used if you change the water pump pulley and alternator to a ribbed belt. 4PK. Your Intake Cam wheel, Cam Cover will asso have to be changed to NB6A style to incorporate separate cam and crank sensors.
Make sure you are purchasing the correct part. Your OEM Damper will have eight cutouts.
